Showing God's Love in Russia

Hannah Goddard

Hannah with Oleg
My Russia experience started almost a year ago when my sister and I first started fund raising -- not only for the trip itself but also for a new playground set for the children at the orphanage. Without the generosity of the church, none of that would have been possible, and for this I would like to say “spasebo” (“thank you”). It was very touching to see how small comtributions like Beanie Babies from Mayfield made so many kids happy 5,000 miles away.

One of the highlights of the trip was when our team presented the new playground set to the children. It took nearly five days to build it, and at first we thought the construction wouldn’t be possible because we were missing the ratchets we needed. However, when several members of our group went into town to look for the tools, a man offered to loan us his. Most of the team agreed that it had to be God at work. Read more

Family Celebrates New Habitat Home

We rejoice with Brenda Powell and her daughter, Brooke, who are recipients of a Geauga County Habitat for Humanity house (above). The house, at 12577 Fowlers Mill Road in Munson, is being renovated now. The hope is that Brenda and Brooke can move in sometime in August, so Brooke, who is 6, can begin second grade in her new school system. Read more
