Pastor Scott Wilson

Scott Wilson is our senior pastor. He arrived in July 2009 after serving nearly 30 years in parish ministry at churches in Louisville, Bucyrus and Norton. Scott was born in Canton and graduated from Canton South High School. He received his bachelor of arts degree in recreation from Malone College, his master of divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and his doctorate of ministry from Ashland Theological Seminary. His gifts are preaching, teaching, equipping leaders for ministry and wearing funny ties. Scott is married to Babs, a registered nurse, and they have two adult children, Erin and Benjamin. When not at the church or the parsonage, you can find him ruminating about life at Panera, Barnes & Noble or Progressive Field.
Pastor Jan Fillmore

Jan Fillmore is one of Mayfield's associate pastors. She is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, who joined our staff in July 2007 after receiving her master of divinity degree from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. Jan directs our LifeGroups (small group ministries for adults) and oversees our outreach ministries to two elementary schools. She also assists in preaching, teaching, pastoral care and administration. Her passion is interfaith education and cooperation. Jan enjoys traveling, reading gardening and playing fetch with her border collie.
Pastor Carrie Antczak

Carrie Antczak is an ordained deacon in the East Ohio Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. She grew up in Berea and graduated from Berea High School. She grew up Catholic, but became United Methodist in high school after her friends invited her to their confirmation. Carrie graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a degree in Theology and minors in sociology and women’s and gender studies. She is a graduate of The Methodist Theological School in Ohio where she specialized in mission and evangelism. During her education years, she served as a nanny and worked in the chaplain’s office at Ohio Wesleyan. She served Bay United Methodist for three years before coming to Mayfield Church. Her passion is sharing God’s story and helping others to find themselves within this grand narrative of love and grace. She and her husband Jason have two children, Hope and Dietrich. Hope is a student at Heartland here at church. Carrie enjoys walking, coloring, yoga, and cooking. She has the most fun playing with her two children though!

Adam Vodicka joined our Mayfield Church staff in July 2014 as Director of Student & College Ministries, after a successful stint at Southern Hills United Methodist Church in Lexington, KY. A native of Chesterland and a graduate of West Geauga High School, Adam holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Kate (Collins), first met at a Mayfield Church Aldersgate Camp Week. They have two daughters. He enjoys following all Cleveland sports and loves to play basketball and ultimate frisby, plus playing guitar, drums, singing and writing music.
Denny is our Director of Middle School Ministries, and a math teacher at St. Benedict Catholic School. Denny holds a Bachelor degree from Case Western Reserve University, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and a Master of Education from John Carroll University. Denny enjoys playing board games and talking about technology and math.

Patty Wenzel is our director of Heartland Childcare Center. The faith-based preschool and school-age program began in 2005; Patty brought 20 years of early childhood education to the ministry when she joined the staff in 2006. Her own children are all grown and she is now enjoying being a grandmother.
Carrie Barry is our Coordinator of Nursery & Childcare Ministries. She included this growing ministry to her repertoire in 2011 in addition to her work as a weekday preschool teacher at Faith Church Preschool in Richmond Heights. She brings to our staff 13 years of experience in the childcare field and is nearing completion of her degree in Early Childhood education. Married and the mother of two, she cherishes family life, volunteering at Mayfield Church and friends.
Care and Prayer Ministries

Cyndi Nicholson is our director of care and prayer ministries. She was a BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) leader for 20 years. She has also gone through the 50 hours of training to become a Stephen Minister and then continued with another 50 hours to become a Stephen Leader at Mayfield. She and her husband, Larry, live in Chesterland and have three grown sons and four grandchildren they enjoy watching.
Anne Parker is our Coordinator of Connecting Ministries. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Math and Secondary Education from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. She worked in the Actuarial field for six years, was a full-time mom to her two daughters for twelve years, then joined the Chardon Public Library staff on a part-time basis. Anne has served Mayfield Church in various volunteer capacities for 25 years and joined the staff in April 2014. Anne shares her gifts of friendliness and hospitality by connecting people within the church to various ministries. In her free time she enjoys sports, exercising and coaching middle school tennis.
Worship and Music Ministries

Sergio Castellanos is our Choral Director. He came to us by way of Massachusetts, Virginia and his home country of Colombia. In addition to his part-time role with Mayfield Church, Sergio is the Upper School Music Director of Hawken School in Gates Mills. He holds degrees from Conservatorio Nacional and P.U. Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, as well as a Masters in Music in Cello Performance from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. Fluent in Spanish, English and Italian, Sergio is the former Choir Conductor for the 13th Brigade Choir of the Colombian National Army. As a cellist he has performed at important venues in Europe and the Americas, including Teatro Colon, Teatro Comunale di Trento, Luis Angel Arango, Anfiteatro de Tarragona and The Kennedy Center among others. In his free time he enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time with his daughters, Sofia and Luisa.
Carol Neff has been our organist since 1987. She provides music for our two traditional services, and accompanies the Chancel Choir. She also rings with our handbell choir. Carol holds the Colleague Certification through the American Guild of Organists, and the Certificate in Church Music-Organ from Baldwin Wallace University. In addition, she is the accompanist for the middle school and prime choirs at Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights. She teaches private lessons in piano, flute and organ. Carol is married to Brian, her high school sweetheart. They have two adult sons and four delightful grandchildren who live in the area.
Brandon has been our contemporary worship leader since May 2015. He holds degrees in Biology from both Calvin College and Kent State. Brandon began playing in church at a young age thanks to his parents' influence. His desire is to cultivate a worship experience that leads his team and the congregation into deeper intimacy with our Great God. In his free time he enjoys playing sports (especially basketball and golf), writing songs and noodling on the guitar, and spending time with his family and beautiful wife, Emily.

Darlene joined our ministry in January 2017 and serves as our financial administrator. Darlene holds a master’s degree in business administration from Lake Erie College and has 20-plus years of financial and administrative experience. She also teaches in the business department of a few area colleges on an as-needed basis and enjoys helping others reach their goals both personally and professionally. In her free time, you can find Darlene spending time with her two daughters as well as rooting on various Cleveland sports teams and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Lynne Pistillo is our communications coordinator. She strives to bring the congregation and the community all the happenings at Mayfield in the most innovative and creative ways possible. Lynne, a fine arts graduate of Miami University, has been on staff since 2005. She and her husband, Mike, enjoy working in their yard and spending time with family.
Building and Grounds
Steve Vegel is our building manager who has been on staff since 2012. He supervises a staff of three custodians and serves as liaison to the board of trustees. He has had his own construction business, has built houses, restored cars and operated a window cleaning service. Steve has one son, Ben, who is in college. He enjoys bike riding and outdoor activities.
